This site is free to use. We do not guarantee it will always be available. Access may be suspended or withdrawn without notice. You are responsible for ensuring others using the site via your connection comply with these terms.

Membership is paid in advance by card, PayPal or another method shown at checkout – Monthly Membership every month and Premium Membership every six months – and renews automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from "My Subscriptions" in your account or by emailing support@actingacademy.org; cancellation takes effect at the end of your paid billing period (see our Refund Policy). New members are covered by our 14-day money-back guarantee. If a payment fails, we will retry it for up to 14 days; if it still cannot be collected, your membership will be cancelled. A membership is required to access course content. Some events (e.g. workshops and the Graduation Showcase) carry additional fees. Showreel Days are open to members and non-members and are governed by the Showreel Days Terms & Conditions.

 

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

 

Businesses: No liability for loss of profits, data, or business interruption.

 

Consumers: This site is for private use only. We are not liable for business losses. If our digital content damages your device due to our negligence, we will repair or compensate.

 

We handle your data according to our Privacy Policy.

 

These terms are governed by English law.

 

Consumers: You may bring claims in England and Wales, or in your local UK jurisdiction.

 

Businesses: Claims must be brought in England and Wales.

 

Showreel Days – Terms & Conditions

These terms apply when you book a Showreel Day with Academy Communications Limited, trading as Acting Academy ("we", "us"). You do not need to be a member to book. Our Website Terms of Use and Privacy Policy also apply. Our Refund Policy does not apply to Showreel Days; cancellations are covered by clause 2 below.

 

1. Booking & Payment

1.1 Full payment is required up front at the time of booking to secure your showreel day.

 

1.2 Your booking is not confirmed until payment has been received in full.

 

1.3 If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must make the booking, agree to these terms and give the consents in clause 7 on your behalf. Under-16s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian on the day.

 

2. Cancellations & Refunds

2.1 If you cancel 7 or more days before your booked day, you will receive a 50% refund. The retained 50% reflects the studio, crew and tutor costs we commit to in advance.

 

2.2 If you cancel less than 7 days before, or on the day itself, no refund will be given.

 

2.3 If you fail to attend your booked day ("no-show"), your fee is forfeited in full.

 

2.4 Clauses 2.1 to 2.3 do not reduce your 14-day cancellation right under clause 8.3. If you cancel within 14 days of booking and before your filming day, you will receive a full refund.

 

2.5 To cancel, email support@actingacademy.org. Refunds are made to your original payment method within 14 days.

 

3. Rescheduling

3.1 You may ask to move your booking to another available date once, provided you tell us at least 14 days before your booked day. Otherwise, bookings cannot be rescheduled by you once confirmed.

 

3.2 If we must cancel or postpone your day (for example due to illness or venue unavailability), we will offer you an alternative date or, if you prefer, a full refund.

 

4. Delivery

4.1 Your edited showreel scenes will be delivered by download link within four to five weeks of your filming day. If we expect a delay, we will tell you and give you a revised date.

 

4.2 The number of scenes included is as specified at the time of booking.

 

4.3 You will receive the final edited scenes only. Raw or unedited footage is not supplied.

 

4.4 Please download and keep your own copies. Download links stay active for 30 days and we keep edited scenes for 12 months, after which they may be deleted.

 

5. Edits & Changes

5.1 No free creative amendments are included once your scenes have been delivered. However, if there is a technical fault or error on our part (for example missing scenes, poor sound or incorrect credits), tell us within 14 days of delivery and we will fix it free of charge.

 

5.2 Any other changes you request are chargeable. We will quote the price before starting the work.

 

6. Music & Licensing

6.1 The music used in your scenes will be royalty-free or otherwise free-to-use music sourced by Acting Academy.

 

6.2 If you wish to have a specific commercial track featured in your showreel, this is subject to an additional charge, agreed separately in advance.

 

6.3 The charge will cover the licence fee set by the relevant licensor(s) plus our administration fee. We will confirm the total price in writing before you agree.

 

6.4 Acting Academy accepts no liability for any use by you of your scenes where you have substituted or added music not cleared through us.

 

7. Usage Rights

7.1 You are free to use your finished showreel scenes to promote yourself as a performer, including on self-tapes, casting profiles, with agents and on social media, subject to any limits in a commercial music licence (clause 6.2). Please do not sell the scenes or use them in a way that misrepresents other performers who appear in them.

 

7.2 With your consent given at booking, we may use clips and stills from your finished scenes to promote Acting Academy on our website and social media channels. You can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing support@actingacademy.org; we will stop new uses, although we cannot recall material already published.

 

8. Your Consumer Rights

8.1 Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

 

8.2 Our services will be provided with reasonable care and skill.

 

8.3 Right to cancel: If you book online or by phone, you have 14 days from booking to cancel for a full refund. If your filming day falls within those 14 days, you will be asked at booking to expressly request that we start the service early. If you then cancel before the service is complete, you will pay a proportionate amount for anything already provided. Once your filming day has taken place and your scenes are delivered, you will lose the right to cancel.

 

9. Liability

9.1 Acting Academy's total liability to you shall not exceed the total fee paid by you for your showreel day.

 

9.2 We do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.

 

9.3 We are not liable for any loss of professional opportunity, casting, or earnings arising from your use of, or inability to use, your showreel scenes.

 

10. Data Protection (GDPR)

10.1 Acting Academy is the data controller for personal data you provide when booking. We process your data in accordance with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

 

10.2 We collect your personal data (such as name, contact details, and payment information) for the purposes of fulfilling your booking, delivering your scenes, and our legitimate business administration.

 

10.3 We will not share your personal data with third parties except as necessary to provide the service (for example payment processors) or where required by law.

 

10.4 Your filmed footage is personal data. We use it to deliver your scenes and, with your consent (which you may withdraw), for promotion as set out in clause 7.2. See our Privacy Policy for more details.

 

10.5 You have rights under the UK GDPR including the right to access, correct, or request erasure of your personal data. To exercise these, contact us at support@actingacademy.org.

 

10.6 We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out above or as required by law.

 

11. Force Majeure

11.1 We are not liable for any failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control (including illness, venue closure, equipment failure or acts of government). In such cases we will offer you an alternative date or a full refund.

 

12. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

12.1 These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.

 

12.2 If you are a consumer, you may bring claims in the courts of England and Wales or, if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in the courts of that country.

 

13. Entire Agreement & Variation

13.1 These terms, together with your booking confirmation, form the entire agreement between us.

 

13.2 Acting Academy reserves the right to amend these terms from time to time; the terms in force at the time of your booking apply to that booking.

 

14. On the Day

14.1 Please arrive on time. If you arrive late, we may not be able to extend your session or film every scene, and no refund will be due for time lost through lateness.

 

14.2 If you bring your own scripts or material, you confirm that you have permission to use it. We may decline to film material that is unsuitable or infringes someone else's rights.

 

14.3 We may ask you to leave if your behaviour is unsafe, abusive or disruptive. If this happens, no refund will be due.

 

15. Complaints

15.1 If you are unhappy, email support@actingacademy.org. We aim to reply within 3 working days.
